വാളാമുരലും തടിമുരലും
ഇവ രണ്ടും നമ്മുടെ കടലിൽ ചൂണ്ടപ്പണിയും വലപ്പണിയും ചെയ്യുന്ന കടൽ പണിക്കാർ പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു വരുന്ന മീനുകളാണ്.
തീരത്തു നിന്നും കുറച്ചു മാറിയുള്ള കടലിലാണ് ഇവയുടെ വാസം. ഒരിക്കൽ അത്യപൂർവ്വമായി ഒരു വാളാമുരൽ കടലിൽ ഇര പിടിക്കുന്ന ചിത്രം ഇതിൽ കാണാം.
ഇവ രണ്ടിന്റെയും മുള്ളുകളുടെ നിറം പച്ചയാണെന്ന വസ്തുത കടലിലെ മറ്റ് ജീവജാലങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് ഇവയെ മാറ്റിനിർത്തുന്നു. വായോട് ചേർന്ന് നീണ്ട കൊമ്പിൽ നിറയെ പല്ലുകളാണ്.

The Valamural and Thadimural are fish caught by local fishermen using hook-and-line or net fishing methods in our waters.

A distinctive feature that sets them apart from other marine life is the green color of their spines. They possess a long, horn-like projection near the mouth that is lined with teeth.
