കടൽ പൂക്കൾ (Kadal pookkal ) - Sea Anemone
തീരത്തോട് ചേർന്ന് പാറകളിൽ ശരീരത്തിന് ചുറ്റും പീലികളുമായി പൂവിന്റെ ആകൃതിയിൽ ജീവിക്കുന്ന ഒരുതരം ജീവിയാണിത്. വിഴിഞ്ഞത്തിനടുത്ത് രണ്ട് ഇടങ്ങളിൽ തിരയടിക്കുന്നതിനടുത്ത് പാറകളിൽ ഇവയെ കാണാൻ കഴിയും.
കോവളത്ത് ഏതാണ്ട് 3 മീറ്റർ ആഴമുള്ള കടലിൽ ഇവയുടെ ഒരിനം ധാരാളം ഉണ്ട്. ഇവയെ ചിപ്പി കോളനികളിലും കാണാൻ സാധിക്കും. കാണാൻ ഭംഗിയുള്ളതാണെങ്കിലും ഇവയെ കടൽ പണിക്കാർ ഗൗനിക്കാറില്ല

This is a flower-shaped organism that lives on rocks near the shore, featuring feathery appendages surrounding its body. They can be found on rocks in the surf zone at two locations near Vizhinjam.A specific variety of these creatures is abundant in the waters off Kovalam at a depth of approximately three meters; they can also be found within colonies of shellfish. Although visually attractive, those who work at sea generally pay little attention to them.
