തിരുവനന്തപുരത്ത് അത്യപൂർവ്വമായി മാത്രം ലഭിക്കുന്ന ഒരു മത്സ്യമാണെന്നതിനാൽ ഇതിന്റെ പേര് പോലും പലർക്കും അറിയില്ല. കാഴ്ചയിൽ ഒരു ചെറിയ പാമ്പിനെ പോലെയോ മറ്റോ തോന്നുമെങ്കിലും ഇതിന് മത്സ്യങ്ങളുടേത് പോലെ വാൽച്ചിറകും മറ്റുചിറകുകളും ഉണ്ട്. പിങ്ക് കലർന്ന വെളുത്ത നിറം. ഇത് അപൂർവങ്ങളിൽ അപൂർവമായി മാത്രം ലഭിക്കുന്ന ഒന്നാണെന്നതിനാലും തീരെ ചെറുതായതിനാലും ഭക്ഷ്യ ആവശ്യത്തിന് എടുക്കാറില്ല. കടലിന്റെ അടിത്തട്ടിൽ മാത്രം ജീവിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ജീവിയാണെന്നാണ് ആളുകൾ മനസ്സിലാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. ബോട്ടം ട്രോളറുകളിലും മറ്റുമാണ് ഇതിനെ സാധാരണ കിട്ടുക എന്നും കടൽ പണിക്കാർ പറയുന്നു. ഒരിക്കൽ ശംഖ്‌മുഖത്ത് കമ്പവലയിൽ ഈ മത്സ്യം ചൊറി അഥവാ ജെല്ലിഫിഷിനോടൊപ്പം ലഭിക്കുകയുണ്ടായി.

 Since this fish is extremely rare in Thiruvananthapuram, many people are unaware of even its name. Although it resembles a small snake in appearance, it possesses a tail fin and other fins typical of fish. It has a pinkish-white color. Because it is exceptionally rare and very small, it is not harvested for consumption. It is understood to be a creature that inhabits only the seabed; fishermen say it is usually caught by bottom trawlers. On one occasion, this fish was caught alongside jellyfish in a shore seine net at Shangumugham.
