കളർ മീനുകൾ
കടലിലെ ഒരു കൂട്ടം മീനുകളെ കടൽ പണി സമൂഹം പൊതുവായി കളർ മീനുകൾ എന്നാണ് പറയുക. ഇവയ്ക്ക് പ്രത്യേകം പ്രത്യേകം പേരുകൾ കടൽ പണിക്കാരുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഇല്ല.
കാരണം അവരുടെ തൊഴിലിൽ ഇവയെ ഇരയായോ, അവരുടെ ജീവിതത്തിൽ ഇവയെ ആഹാരമായോ ഉപയോഗിക്കാറില്ല. ഇവയിൽ ഭൂരിഭാഗവും തീരക്കടലിലെ പാരുകളിൽ ചെറു കൂട്ടങ്ങളായി ജീവിക്കുന്നവയാണ്. ശലഭ മത്സ്യങ്ങൾ, ഏയ്ഞ്ചൽ മത്സ്യങ്ങൾ, കൊടിയൻ എന്നിങ്ങനെ ശാസ്ത്രീയ പൊതുനാമമുള്ള ഇനങ്ങൾ ഇതിൽ പെടും. പെന്നെറ്റ് പവിഴ മത്സ്യം എന്ന് ശാസ്ത്രലോകം നാമകരണം നൽകിയിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരിനം മത്സ്യം എഫ് എം എൽ 43 മീറ്റർ ആഴമുള്ള കപ്പൽ പാരിൽ കൂട്ടമായി സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നത് ഡോക്യുമെന്റ് ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്.
ഇത്തരം കളർമീനുകൾക്കെല്ലാം ഉള്ള ഒരു പൊതുകാര്യം അവയുടെ വായ് ചെറുതും കൂർത്തതുമാണ്. തീരക്കടലിൽ പാറപ്പാരുകൾക്ക് മുകളിലെ ജൈവ ആവരണത്തിൽ നിന്നും ചെറുകൂട്ടമായി ഇവ വന്ന് ഇരകൾ കൊത്തിപ്പെറുക്കി സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നത് കാണാൻ നല്ല ഭംഗിയാണ്. തൊഴിലാളികളെ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് കളർ മീനുകളെ അക്വേറിയം ആവശ്യത്തിനായി പാരുകളിൽ വല വിട്ട് പിടിച്ചെടുക്കാറുണ്ട്.

Colorful Fish

The fishing community collectively refers to a certain group of marine fish simply as "colorful fish"; they do not have specific local names for individual species within this category.

This is because these fish are neither used as bait in their fishing operations nor consumed as food. Most of them live in small shoals around rocky reefs in coastal waters. This group includes species known by common names such as butterflyfish, angelfish, and bannerfish. A species scientifically named the Pennant Coralfish has been documented swimming in shoals at the 'Kappal Paar' (Ship Reef) at a depth of 43 meters.

A common characteristic of these colorful fish is their small, pointed mouths. It is a beautiful sight to watch them move in small groups, pecking at the organic growth on the rocky reefs of the coastal waters. These colorful fish are sometimes caught using nets from the reefs for the aquarium trade.
