പരലികൾ

നമ്മുടെ കടലിൽ പലതരത്തിലുള്ള പരിലി മത്സ്യങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ട്. അവയെല്ലാം തന്നെ പരന്ന ആകൃതിയിൽ ആണുള്ളത്. സമുദ്രത്തിൽ ആഴം കൂടിയതും പാറപ്പാരുകൾ ഉള്ളതുമായ ഇടങ്ങളിലാണ് പരലികളെ കാണുക. തിരുവനന്തപുരത്ത് 27 മീറ്റർ ആഴമുള്ള വർക്കല പാരിലും 15 മീറ്റർ ആഴമുള്ള കൊച്ചുതുറയിലെ പന്താക്കല്ലിലും സ്ഥിരമായി ഒരിനം പരലികളെ കാണാറുണ്ട്. എന്നാൽ ഇവയുടെ ലഭ്യതയിൽ ഇപ്പോൾ വളരെ വലിയ കുറവ് സംഭവിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ബാക്കിയുള്ളവ ഏതാണ്ട് അപ്രത്യക്ഷമായ മട്ടാണ്.

Parali Fish

 Various types of 'Parali' fish are found in our seas; they are all characterized by a flat body shape. These fish inhabit deep-sea areas featuring rocky reefs. A specific variety is regularly found at the Varkala reef (at a depth of 27 meters) and the Panthakkallu reef off Kochuthura (at a depth of 15 meters) in Thiruvananthapuram. However, there has been a drastic decline in their availability, and the remaining population appears to be on the verge of disappearance.
