പൊടിക്കൊഞ്ചുകൾ (Podikkonjukal)/ Shrimps
തീരക്കടൽ പാറപ്പാരുകളിൽ വസിക്കുന്ന നിരവധി ചെറിയ കൊഞ്ചുകൾ അഥവാ shrimp കൾ ഉണ്ട്. അവയെല്ലാം ചിപ്പിക്കോളനികളിൽ വസിക്കുകയും ചിപ്പിയോടൊപ്പം തൊഴിലാളികൾ കരയിൽ എത്തിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവയാണ്. ഭക്ഷ്യയോഗ്യമല്ലാത്തതിനാലും മറ്റു ഉപയോഗങ്ങൾ ഇല്ലാത്തതിനാലും ആരും ഇവയെ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കാറില്ല എന്ന് മാത്രം. തീരക്കടലിലും ഉൾക്കടലിലും ഒരേയിനം shrimp കളെ കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. അവ പ്രധാനമായും പാറയിടുക്കിൽ ജീവിക്കുന്ന ഈൽ മത്സ്യങ്ങളോടൊപ്പം ആണ് കാണുക. ഇവ ചിലപ്പോൾ പരോപകാരികളായി വസിക്കുന്നവയാവാം. ക്യാമറക്കണ്ണിൽ പെടാത്ത അത്ര ചെറിയ ജീവികൾ ആയതിനാൽ ഇവയെ ഡോക്കുമെന്റ് ചെയ്യുക ഏറെ ശ്രമകരമാണ്.
തീരക്കടലിലെ പാറപ്പാരുകളിൽ വളരുന്ന സീ സ്പോഞ്ചുകൾക്കുള്ളിൽ shrimp കൾ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ വിരിയിക്കാറുണ്ട്.

Small Shrimps

There are numerous small shrimp species inhabiting the rocky outcrops of coastal waters. They often reside within oyster colonies and are brought ashore by workers along with the oysters. However, they go unnoticed because they are neither edible nor have any other commercial use. The same species of shrimp have been observed in both coastal and deep-sea waters; they are primarily found alongside eel species that inhabit rock crevices. They may sometimes exist in a symbiotic relationship. Documenting them is extremely challenging as they are tiny creatures that often escape the camera's view.These shrimps also hatch their young inside sea sponges that grow on the rocky outcrops of coastal waters.
