മാൻ്റിസ് കൊഞ്ചുകൾ (Mantis konjukal ) / Mantis Shrimps
സാധാരണ ഇത് ഉൾക്കടലിൽ നിന്നും ട്രോളറുകളിൽ പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവരുന്ന മീനുകളോടൊപ്പം ചവറുകൾ എന്ന നിലയിൽ പരിഗണിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതും വള കമ്പനികൾക്ക് വിൽക്കുന്നതുമായ ട്രാഷ് ഫിഷുകളിൽ പെടുന്ന ഒന്നാണ്. തിരുവനന്തപുരത്ത് ട്രോൾ ബോട്ടുകൾ ഇല്ലെങ്കിലും മരിയനാട് എന്ന ഗ്രാമത്തിലെ മാന്തൽമല പണിക്കാർ മാന്തലിനോടൊപ്പം പിടിച്ചു കൊണ്ടു വരുന്ന മറ്റ് അനേകം ജീവികളോടൊപ്പം മാൻ്റിസ് കൊഞ്ചുകളെ കണ്ടെത്താനായി. മാന്തൽവലകൾ ശരാശരി 30 മീറ്റർ ആഴമുള്ള കടലിൽ അടിത്തട്ടിലെ ചെളിയിടങ്ങളിൽ വിടുന്നവയാണ്.
കൂടാതെ വിഴിഞ്ഞം കോവളം മേഖലയിലെ ചിപ്പി കോളനികളിൽ നിന്നും കണ്ടെത്തിയ ഏതാനും ജുവനൈൽ മാന്റിസ് കൊഞ്ചുകളെയും ഈ രജിസ്റ്ററിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഉൾക്കടലിലെ ചെളിയിടങ്ങളിൽ ജീവിക്കുന്ന ജീവിയുടെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങൾ തീരക്കടലിലെ പാറപ്പാരുകളിൽ കാണപ്പെടുന്നതിനാൽ അതേപ്പറ്റി കൂടുതൽ പഠനങ്ങൾ ആവശ്യമാണ്.

Mantis Shrimps

Typically, these are classified as "trash fish" creatures often caught alongside target fish by deep-sea trawlers and subsequently sold to fertilizer companies. Although there are no trawler boats operating in Thiruvananthapuram, Mantis shrimps were found among the various marine organisms caught by Manthal net fishermen in the village of Marianad. Manthal nets are deployed on the muddy seabed at an average depth of 30 meters.Additionally, juvenile Mantis shrimps discovered in shellfish colonies within the Vizhinjam-Kovalam region have been included in this record. Since the young of a species that typically inhabits deep-sea muddy bottoms are being found in rocky coastal areas, further study is required.
