ഹോക് ഫിഷുകൾ

തീരക്കടൽ പാറപ്പാരുകളിൽ മാത്രം കാണുന്ന നല്ല ഭംഗിയുള്ള മത്സ്യം. 10 -15 സെന്റീമീറ്റർ വലിപ്പമുള്ള ഇവയെ കടൽപണിക്കാർ പിടിക്കുകയോ ഉപയോഗിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യാറില്ല. എന്നാൽ കടലിനടിയിൽ ക്യാമറയുമായി നാം ചെല്ലുമ്പോൾ ഏറ്റവും ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്ന മീനുകളിൽ ഒന്നാണിത്. ഇവയുടെ ഇരുവശത്തെയും ചെകിളപ്പൂക്കളുകളുടെ അടുത്തായുള്ള ചിറകുകളിൽ മുള്ളുകൾ കൂടുതലാണ് .ആ ചിറകുകൾ പാറമുകളിൽ ഊന്നി തല ഉയർത്തി ഇവ ക്യാമറയെ നോക്കി ഇരിക്കാറുണ്ട്. സാധാരണ മത്സ്യങ്ങൾ അവയുടെ കൺവെട്ടത്ത് നമ്മൾ പതിയുകയോ നമ്മുടെ കാലൊച്ചയോ ശ്വാസം എടുക്കലിന്റെ ഒച്ചയോ കേട്ടപാടെ ജീവനും കൊണ്ട് ഓടി രക്ഷപ്പെടുകയാണ് പതിവ് . കടൽത്തീരവാസികൾ ഉപയോഗിക്കാത്തതിനാൽ ഇവയ്ക്ക് പ്രാദേശിക നാമവും ഇല്ല.

HAWKFISH
These beautiful fishes are found only on coastal rocky reefs. This 10-15 cm in size fishes are not caught or used by sea-workers. But these are one of the most favourite fishes when we go underwater with a camera. The fins on both sides of these fish near the gills have numerous barbs. They rest on the rocks on these fins, raise their heads and look at the camera. Normally, fish swim away for their lives as soon as we catch their attention or hear our footsteps or breathing. Since the coastal people do not use them for any purpose, they do not have a local name.
