കടലിനടിയിൽ ഉറച്ചു വളരുന്നതും ചെടികളുടെ രൂപസാദൃശ്യം ഉള്ളതുമായവയിൽ പറ്റി വളരുന്ന ഇനം ചിപ്പിയാണിത്.
FML ന്റെ Underwater documentation ൽ 'ഗോർഗോണിയൻ സീ ഫാൻസ്‌ ' ൽ ആണ് ഇവ പറ്റി വളരുന്നത് എന്ന് മനസ്സിലാക്കാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞു.
കാഴ്ചയിൽ പക്ഷികളെ പോലെ തോന്നിക്കുന്ന രൂപമാണ് ഇതിന് ഉള്ളത്.

Winged Oysters (Chedichippi / Chirakan Chippi)

These are a type of oyster that grows attached to firmly rooted organisms on the seabed, particularly those with a plant-like appearance. FML’s underwater documentation has shown that they can be found attached to gorgonian sea fans.

Their distinctive shape resembles the form of a bird, which is reflected in their local name, Chirakan Chippi, meaning “winged shell.”
