KLATHIKAL

Different habitats occupy Klathis of different species. They can be found in the reefs near coastal seas and in the deeper seas. In addition, certain species of Klathis are seen moving under the shade of something floating above the sea. There are various species of Klathis in the sea, such as the Komban-Klathis with three long and strong tripod –like spines, the Kakka-Klathis with red teeth and blue color, the dep sea Klathis with white spots on their black bodies, the Vella-Klathis with dark brown color and the flat and not very thick Marappa- Klathis. Of these, the Kakka-Klathis and the Vella- Klathis are found in large numbers. The Klathi-reefs in some places in the sea of Thiruvananthapuram are very famous.
